over-powering in might, other times poetic, sensual – but in a haste and a velocity that almost leaves you breathless Christopher Ballantine, International Record Review March 2005

Concert master Tale Olsson, saxophone soloist Jörgen Pettersson and conductor Lü Jia during the recording of Hope 2001
Program Note
Dagmar Hagelin was a young student when she was captured and killed 1977 in Buenos Aires during the military regime. Her father Ragnar Hagelin struggled with all means to find out what happened to his daughter and where she was buried. I was 23 years old when she disappeared and I was deeply moved.
Later as I composed this work I had the privilege to meet Ragnar Hagelin and he also attended the premiere.
This concerto for saxophone and orchestra was commissioned by the Swedish Radio and initiated by Göran Rydberg. It was composed for Jörgen Pettersson who played the solo part fantastically together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Christian Eggen.
